Best AI Visibility Tracking Tools 2026: Verified Pricing Compared

An AI visibility tracking tool runs a fixed set of buyer-intent prompts through assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot on a schedule, then records whether your brand was mentioned, in what position, with what sentiment, and which sources the model cited. It is the answer-engine equivalent of a rank tracker: it does not change anything, it measures. In 2026 the credible tools with published list pricing are Otterly.AI (from $29/mo), Peec AI (from $95/mo), Profound (from $99/mo billed yearly), the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit ($99/mo per domain billed annually), Ahrefs Brand Radar ($199 or $699/mo as an add-on), Scrunch AI (from $250/mo billed annually), and AthenaHQ ($295/mo). Rankscale publishes engine coverage but not list pricing, and HubSpot's AI Search Grader is a free one-off diagnostic rather than a tracker.

Published 26 August 2026. Last updated 26 August 2026. Every price below was read directly from the vendor's own published pricing page on 26 August 2026. Vendors change pricing often, so treat these as a dated snapshot and confirm before you buy.

TL;DR

If you are one person with one brand, start at the cheap end: Otterly.AI Lite is $29/mo for 15 prompts across four engines, and HubSpot's AI Search Grader is free for a one-off read. If you run several client brands, the agency tiers at Peec AI and Scrunch AI are built for that shape. If you already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs, their AI modules are the lowest-friction way to start because the data sits next to your existing reporting. Profound and AthenaHQ sit at the enterprise-leaning end with the widest engine coverage. No tool in this category sees inside the engines: they all sample by re-asking prompts, so treat every number as a directional index, not a measurement.

What Is an AI Visibility Tracking Tool?

The category goes by several names, which is part of why it is confusing to shop for. Some vendors call it AI visibility, some call it answer engine optimization tooling, some call it generative engine optimization or GEO. They all do broadly the same core job.

The vocabulary you will meet on these pricing pages

Prompt
One tracked question, for example "best AI receptionist for a dental clinic". Almost every vendor in this category meters you on the number of prompts you track, not on traffic or keywords.
Engine or model
The assistant the prompt is run against: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and others. Most self-serve plans cap how many engines you can track at once.
Share of voice
What proportion of tracked answers mention you versus a named competitor set. Useful as a trend line, misleading as an absolute number, because it depends entirely on which prompts you chose.
Citation
A source URL an engine attributes an answer to. Being cited and being mentioned are different events, and some tools report them separately.
Agent analytics
Server-log analysis of AI crawlers and agents hitting your site (GPTBot, PerplexityBot and similar). This is real first-party data rather than sampling, which makes it the most trustworthy signal any of these tools produce.

If the underlying discipline is new to you, start with our primers on what answer engine optimization is and what generative engine optimization is before you spend anything on a tracker. Buying a dashboard before you have a hypothesis is the most common way people waste the first three months.

Why Are Creators and Agencies Suddenly Buying These?

Because the assistant now sits between the audience and the search results. Pew Research Center's February 2026 survey of 5,119 US adults found that about half of US adults now report using AI chatbots, with roughly four in ten saying they use chatbots for information searching, up from 33% reporting chatbot use in 2024.

And when an AI summary is present, fewer people click through at all. Pew's earlier study of 68,879 Google searches by 900 US adults in March 2025 found that users who encountered an AI summary clicked a traditional search result in 8% of visits, against 15% when no AI summary appeared. The mention inside the answer is becoming the impression that matters, and nobody ships you a report for it.

Which AI Visibility Tracking Tools Are Worth Shortlisting in 2026?

The list below is ordered by how well each option fits an independent creator, consultant or small agency who is starting from zero, not by which is the most powerful platform overall. A tool that is genuinely better for a Fortune 500 brand team can still be the wrong first purchase for someone tracking one brand. Every fact is what the vendor publishes about itself, read on 26 August 2026.

1

Otterly.AI

The cheapest credible entry point with published pricing: Lite $29/mo for 15 tracked prompts, Standard $189/mo for 100 prompts, Premium $489/mo for 400 prompts, and an Enterprise tier the pricing page describes as starting from $1,000/month. Annual billing is 15% off (Lite $25/mo, Standard $160/mo, Premium $422/mo). Base tracking covers ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot; Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons priced separately. Standard and above include API access, MCP access and agent analytics. Verified on their pricing page, 2026-08-26.

Best for: A solo creator or consultant who wants a real tracker for the price of a lunch, and can live with four base engines

2

Peec AI

A Berlin-based platform (Karl-Liebknecht Str. 14, 10178 Berlin, per their own published details) with brand plans at $95/mo Starter (50 prompts, 1 project, 1 country), $245/mo Pro (150 prompts, 2 projects, 3 countries), $495/mo Advanced (350 prompts, 5 projects, 3 countries) and a custom Enterprise tier; annual billing saves roughly 15%. The important caveat is on their own plan detail page: every self-serve plan lets you track three of six default models (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, Gemini), with further models such as Claude, Grok, Mistral and DeepSeek as paid upgrades. Separate agency plans run $245, $495 and $795/mo on a credit model. Verified 2026-08-26.

Best for: European teams and boutique agencies who want an EU-headquartered vendor and multi-country prompt tracking

3

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Semrush publishes a Base tier at $99/mo per domain billed annually, covering 25 custom tracked prompts with daily AI rankings and one domain for brand performance analysis, reporting mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity. Its advantage is not depth, it is that the AI data lands beside the keyword and backlink reporting a marketing team already reads. Verified on their AI pricing page, 2026-08-26.

Best for: Anyone already living inside Semrush who wants AI visibility in the same reporting stack

4

Profound

Publishes Starter at $99/month and Growth at $399/month, both billed yearly with two months free, plus a custom Enterprise tier. Coverage scales with the plan: Starter tracks ChatGPT only, Growth tracks three engines, Enterprise up to nine across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Claude. Growth includes 100 tracked prompts and 9,000 monthly responses. Beyond monitoring it sells Prompt Volumes (query demand data), Agent Analytics (AI crawler traffic) and an agent-building layer. Verified 2026-08-26.

Best for: In-house marketing teams that want prompt-demand data and crawler analytics, not just a mention count

5

Scrunch AI

Starter is $250/month billed annually or $300 month-to-month (3 seats, 350 custom prompts, 1,000 industry prompts, 3 personas, 5 page audits); Growth is $417/month billed annually or $500 month-to-month (5 seats, 700 custom prompts, 2,500 industry prompts, 5 personas, 10 page audits); Enterprise is custom with SAML/OIDC and a data API. Three modules: monitoring, insights, and an Agent Experience Platform that serves machine-readable versions of your pages. States SOC 2 Type II and monitors ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Copilot. Verified 2026-08-26.

Best for: Agencies and mid-market teams that need seats, personas and page audits rather than a single-user dashboard

6

AthenaHQ

Positions itself as a command center for AEO and GEO and states coverage of 10+ models including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI. Publishes a free Essential tier with $25 of credit, a Starter tier at $295/month with 3,600 credits, and custom Enterprise credits. The credit model makes cost harder to forecast than a flat prompt allowance. Verified 2026-08-26.

Best for: Teams that want the widest engine list in one place and are comfortable with credit-based metering

7

Ahrefs Brand Radar

Sold as a separate add-on rather than being included in standard Ahrefs plans, at $199/mo for select platforms or $699/mo for all platforms with 2,500 monthly custom-query checks. Covers AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini, and adds YouTube, TikTok and Reddit data in beta. Its distinguishing claim is a prompt database drawn from real user queries rather than only synthetic prompts. Verified 2026-08-26.

Best for: Existing Ahrefs users who want prompt-demand scale and are willing to pay add-on pricing for it

8

Rankscale

States tracking of brands, products and ads across 17+ engines including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, DeepSeek, Grok, Copilot and Mistral. It references a subscription plus in-app credit top-ups, but does not publish list pricing on its homepage, so you cannot budget for it without talking to them. Verified 2026-08-26.

Best for: Buyers who want the broadest engine list and do not mind requesting a quote

9

HubSpot AI Search Grader

Not a tracker and not a competitor to the paid tools: a free one-time diagnostic that reports what ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini say about a brand, scoring sentiment, presence quality, brand recognition, share of voice and market competition out of 100. HubSpot states plainly there is no cost to run an analysis and no account is required. It gives you a snapshot, not a trend line. Verified 2026-08-26.

Best for: Getting a free baseline read before deciding whether the category is worth paying for at all

How Much Do AI Visibility Tracking Tools Cost?

Published entry pricing runs from free to $295/month, with add-on and enterprise tiers well above that. The number that actually drives your bill is not the plan name, it is how many prompts and how many engines you need, because nearly every vendor meters on that pair. Prices below were read on 26 August 2026 from each vendor's own pricing page.

Read the engine limit before the price

The single most common surprise in this category is that the headline plan does not track the engines you assumed. Profound's Starter tier tracks ChatGPT only. Peec's self-serve plans let you pick three of six default models, and further models cost extra. Otterly's base plans cover four engines, with Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude sold as separate add-ons. If your buyers live in Perplexity or Gemini, check that specific engine is in the tier you are pricing, not merely on the vendor's logo strip.

Which AI Engines Does Each Tool Actually Cover?

Because tables can be stripped when this page is read as plain text, here is the same coverage written out. Each line records what the vendor states on its own site as of 26 August 2026, not our inference.

  • Profound states coverage of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Anthropic Claude, with the Starter plan tracking ChatGPT only, Growth three engines, and Enterprise up to nine.
  • Peec AI lists six default models: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity and Gemini. Self-serve plans track three of the six; OpenAI Search API, Claude Sonnet, Claude Haiku, DeepSeek, Qwen, Grok and Mistral are upgrade options.
  • Otterly.AI tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot as base engines, with Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude available as paid add-ons.
  • Scrunch AI names ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Copilot, and refers more broadly to major LLMs.
  • AthenaHQ states 10+ models including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI.
  • Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit reports mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity.
  • Ahrefs Brand Radar covers AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini, with YouTube, TikTok and Reddit in beta.
  • Rankscale states 17+ engines including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, AI Overviews, AI Mode, DeepSeek, Grok, Copilot and Mistral.
  • HubSpot AI Search Grader uses three: an OpenAI model, Perplexity and Gemini.

If you are choosing which engines to prioritise rather than which vendor, our per-engine guides go deeper: how to appear in ChatGPT answers, how to get cited by Perplexity, and how to rank in Google AI Overviews.

What Are the Honest Limits of Every AI Visibility Tracker?

This is the part vendors do not put on the pricing page, and it applies to all of them including the expensive ones. None of these limits mean the category is worthless. They mean you should read the outputs as an index, not as a measurement.

  • They sample, they do not observe. No assistant publishes a citation report. Every tool re-asks a prompt panel and records what came back. You are measuring the tool's prompt list, not the world's.
  • Answers are non-deterministic. The same prompt can return a different brand set on two consecutive runs. Week-over-week wobble of a few points is usually noise, not movement.
  • Personalisation and memory are invisible to the tracker. A logged-in user with chat history may get an answer no clean-room API call would reproduce.
  • Geography changes everything. Several vendors meter countries as a plan feature for exactly this reason. If you sell in one country, do not read a US-sampled panel as your reality.
  • Prompt choice quietly sets the score. Share of voice is arithmetic over the prompts you picked. Pick generous prompts and you look dominant; pick honest buyer-intent prompts and you usually do not.
  • Agent analytics is the most reliable number a tracker gives you, because it comes from your own server logs rather than from sampling. If a plan includes it, weight it heavily.
  • Attribution to revenue is still weak across the whole category. Being mentioned in an answer and being the reason someone bought are not yet connectable with any confidence.

For a manual method that costs nothing and teaches you what a tool is actually doing, see how to track AI citations for your brand and how to monitor what AI answer engines say about your company. Running the panel by hand for a month before subscribing is the cheapest education in this category.

How Do You Choose an AI Visibility Tool for Your Situation?

Four questions settle most of it:

  • One brand or many? One brand and a small prompt list points to Otterly.AI Lite or the Semrush add-on. Several client brands points to the agency tiers at Peec AI or the seat-based Starter and Growth plans at Scrunch AI.
  • Which engines do your buyers actually use? Price the tier that includes those engines, not the tier with the nicest headline number. This is where most of the real cost difference hides.
  • Do you already pay for an SEO suite? If yes, the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit or Ahrefs Brand Radar puts the data where your reporting already lives, which usually beats a marginally better standalone dashboard nobody opens.
  • Do you want measurement, or do you want the position to change? This is the question people skip. A tracker tells you that ChatGPT does not mention you. It does not fix it. If you already know you are invisible, the money is better spent on the content and structured-data work that changes the answer. Start with why ChatGPT is not citing your website and the schema that earns AI search citations.

A reasonable first 90 days

Run the free HubSpot grader for a baseline. Write 20 to 30 genuine buyer-intent prompts by hand. Buy the cheapest paid plan that covers the engines your buyers use, and let it run for a full quarter before you judge anything, because monthly noise in this category is larger than most people expect. Spend the rest of the budget on fixing what the tracker exposes, not on a bigger tracker. Our take on realistic timelines is in how fast you can rank in ChatGPT and Perplexity.

Where Does Ainora Fit, and Where Does It Not?

Plainly: Ainora does not sell an AI visibility tracker, and if a dashboard is what you want, buy one of the tools above rather than talking to us. We would be the wrong vendor and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise.

What we do is the work on the other side of the measurement. Our AI visibility audit is a done-for-you read of how assistants currently describe a business and why, and our AI SEO and answer engine work covers the content structure, entity clarity and machine-readable surfaces that change what the model says next time. We keep engine-specific pages for ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews because the mechanics genuinely differ.

The two things are complements, not substitutes. Most teams that get somewhere in this category buy a cheap tracker to keep themselves honest, and put the real budget into the work the tracker keeps grading. If you want to talk through which half you are missing, get in touch.

One note for creators specifically. If you have an audience of phone-and-diary businesses and you are looking at this category because your students keep asking why AI does not recommend them, the visibility question and the product question are related. We have written separately about creator-fronted AI products and how creators monetise an audience with an AI product.

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no single best tool, because the category meters on prompts and engines rather than on features. For one brand on a small budget, Otterly.AI publishes the cheapest credible entry at $29/mo for 15 prompts across four engines. For European teams, Peec AI is Berlin-headquartered and starts at $95/mo. For teams already inside an SEO suite, the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit at $99/mo per domain billed annually or Ahrefs Brand Radar at $199/mo puts the data beside existing reporting. For the widest engine coverage in one place, AthenaHQ states 10+ models at $295/mo and Profound covers up to nine engines on its Enterprise tier. All prices read from vendor pricing pages on 26 August 2026.

Published entry pricing in 2026 ranges from free to $295 per month. HubSpot AI Search Grader is free but is a one-off diagnostic rather than a tracker. Otterly.AI Lite is $29/mo, Peec AI Starter is $95/mo, Profound Starter is $99/month billed yearly, the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit is $99/mo per domain billed annually, Ahrefs Brand Radar is $199/mo for select platforms or $699/mo for all platforms, Scrunch AI Starter is $250/mo billed annually or $300 month-to-month, and AthenaHQ Starter is $295/month. Rankscale does not publish list pricing. Verified 26 August 2026.

No. No assistant publishes a citation or impression report to brands. Every tool in this category works by re-running a panel of prompts against the engines on a schedule and recording what comes back. That means results depend heavily on which prompts you chose, vary run to run because model outputs are non-deterministic, and cannot capture personalised answers shaped by a real user chat history. Treat the numbers as a directional index rather than a measurement.

For a baseline, often yes. HubSpot AI Search Grader runs a free one-time analysis across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini and scores sentiment, presence quality, brand recognition, share of voice and market competition out of 100, with no account required. What it cannot give you is a trend line, and trend is the only thing that tells you whether your work is moving anything. Use the free check to decide whether the problem is real, then pay for tracking only if you are also funding the work that changes the answer.

Look at how the vendor meters multi-brand work rather than at the headline plan. Peec AI publishes separate agency plans on a credit model at $245, $495 and $795 per month plus a custom tier, and its brand plans meter projects and countries. Scrunch AI includes multiple user seats, personas and page audits from its $250/mo Starter tier upward and states SOC 2 Type II. Profound and AthenaHQ both list agencies among their target buyers. The practical test is whether client separation, seats and reporting exports are in the tier you can afford, not in the enterprise tier above it.

If you already know assistants do not mention you, tracking mostly confirms that at a monthly cost. A tracker measures, it does not move anything. The pragmatic split is to buy the cheapest plan that covers the engines your buyers actually use, so you keep an honest trend line, and put the remainder of the budget into the content structure, entity clarity and machine-readable surfaces that change what the model says. The tools are the scoreboard, not the game.
